Tried a new PDF export setting and it wrecked my line weights
Was finishing a set for a client in Denver. Used the 'optimize for web' export on my CAD software. All my 0.35mm lines printed as hairlines. The whole sheet looked washed out. Had to redo the export and send it overnight. Anyone know a solid PDF preset for construction docs?

0.35mm lines just vanishing... that's the kind of mistake that costs real money. Overnight shipping from Denver isn't cheap. I'd be checking every single setting twice after that, maybe even doing a test print at the office first. Makes you wonder who that 'optimize for web' setting is even for.

Gonna go against the grain here but that 'optimize for web' setting probably DID what it said. It's made for SCREEN viewing not printing. You just grabbed the WRONG preset for the job. That's on you not the software. If you're sending construction docs you should be using a PDF/A or a standard print preset that keeps all the line weights intact. Simple as that.

Optimize for web... on construction docs?

It's like how everything's an app now, even stuff that shouldn't be. Feels like that, right @adam414?
