My old boss in Morgan City told me to keep the winch drum greased every 4 hours and I stopped listening after week one
Burned out a bearing 3 weeks later and we sat dead in the water for 9 hours waiting on a $1,800 part. Anybody else got a old timer rule they blew off and regretted?

Man that 9 hour wait had to hurt, especially knowing it was all over some grease. Been there with the "ah it'll be fine" mindset and it never is.
