PSA: A clogged suction line on the 'Mississippi Queen' cost us a full shift
We were pulling sediment near Baton Rouge when the pump pressure dropped to nothing. Thought it was a quick fix, but a massive chunk of petrified wood had jammed itself sideways in the 12-inch line. Took the whole crew eight hours to cut it out and re-seal the joint. Anyone else had a weird object completely shut down a dredge?

Remember when a plastic lawn flamingo took out our sump pump.

That whole thing with the flamingo, @mason.drew, reminds me of the time my neighbor's kid's remote control boat got sucked into the storm drain. It took the city crew two hours to fish it out, and they pulled up about ten pounds of leaves and a soccer ball with it.

Honestly, that soccer ball find is classic, @mason.drew.
