Appreciation post: the Monday my whole crew quit and I finished 14 sheets alone
So the popular take is you need a full crew to make real money. I call bs on that after what happened 3 weeks ago in Beaverton. My two guys walked off at 7am over a pay beef, left me with a 2 car garage and a hallway to hang. I had a lift, a bazooka, and 14 sheets of 5/8 on the floor. I told myself I would just do the garage wall first and see how it went. By 3pm I had 9 sheets up, all screwed at 8 inches on the seams, and my back was shot but nothing was crooked. Next morning I knocked out the rest, taped by noon, and the homeowner tipped me 80 bucks. I made more that day than with a crew because no one was standing around. Has anyone else had a job go better once the crew bailed?
