Blew $120 on a laser level for a 12 foot closet and my 4 foot bubble was just fine
Everyone on here keeps saying you need a laser for anything past 8 feet, so I finally dropped $120 on one for a tiny closet job in Fort Wayne last month. The thing ate batteries, the tripod kept sliding on the drop cloth, and I ended up grabbing my 4 foot level anyway because the boss just let me work faster. The $60 I spent on a decent 6 foot level two years ago has been the real workhorse, and I honestly think lasers get sold to guys who don't trust their eyeballs yet. My lines came out dead flat with the bubble and the laser is now a $120 paperweight in the truck. What's the actual job where a laser pays for itself, because I haven't found one.
