Hand taping vs. automatic taper, I finally switched after 12 years

I've been hand taping since I started in 2013, always thought the auto taper was for hacks until I picked one up on a commercial job in Tampa last month. The speed difference was unreal, I finished a 12-foot hallway in about 20 minutes with no bubbles or wrinkles, something I struggled with on long runs by hand. Am I crazy for thinking the auto taper gives a flatter finish on new construction, or should I keep it for production work only?

Nah man, you're not crazy, the auto taper gives way flatter long runs and I felt the same way when I switched last year.
