Picked up a used hot mud mixer in Columbus for $40, what a game changer
Old guy was retiring and sold me his mixer plus a spare paddle, took 15 minutes off my taping setup time on Tuesday. Anyone else buy used gear from retiring guys and find it works better than the new stuff?

Old timers always have the best beat-up tools.

...and honestly, @xenabutler, I read somewhere that worn out tools actually tell you a story. Like every scratch and dent is a lesson someone learned the hard way. It got me thinking about how young folks, myself included, buy shiny new stuff and then get frustrated when it doesn't work perfectly. But that beat up hammer or drill, it's already been proven in the field. There's something real about trusting gear that's survived decades of use.
