The GC who tore out my tape job on a Saturday in Phoenix

I hung and taped a 2,200 square foot office build back in March. Straight 12 foot walls, nothing tricky. I was proud of it. The GC shows up on a Saturday, I wasn't even there, and just rips out a full corner bead and about 15 feet of tape along a bulkhead. He didn't call, didn't text. Monday morning I walk in, see the mess, and he's standing there with coffee saying "this corner has a wave you can see from the hallway." I honestly couldn't see it with my light. He showed me a straight edge and yeah, there was a small dip, maybe 1/16 of an inch. I redid it, no charge, but I didn't sleep that weekend. Has anyone else had a GC do demo on your work without telling you first? How do you handle that without blowing the job?

Sixteenth of an inch sounds like a reason to sleep fine, honestly.
