Took a before and after photo of my own taping job 6 months apart and the difference shocked me
I started taking photos of every ceiling I tape because a guy on a job in Sacramento said it keeps you honest. My first batch from January had visible ridges on almost every butt joint and I never even noticed while working. Six months later I look at the same hallway and the joints are flat enough that paint hides everything. The change came from one thing, I stopped loading so much mud on the first coat and started running a 10 inch knife instead of a 6 inch. I also slowed down and let each coat dry a full day instead of hitting it after 4 hours. Anyone else keep progress photos of their own work, and did it show you something you did not expect?
