Oh man, the "20 minutes to diagnose, 4 hours to fix" hits home way too hard. I once spent nearly a full afternoon trying to reseat a RAM stick that just wouldn't click in right, turned out the clip was just being stubborn and I was too scared to snap the whole motherboard in half. Felt like such a clown when my buddy came over and just pushed it down with one firm thump. The whole time I'm sweating bullets thinking I bricked the build, but nope, just needed a bit more elbow grease.

You know what, I had almost the exact same thing happen with a GPU once. I was building a PC for my nephew and spent like two hours trying to get the card to seat properly in the PCIe slot, kept checking the power cables, reseating it a dozen times. Finally I just gave it a good push from the back corner and it clicked right in place. Felt like the biggest idiot because I was so scared of cracking the board I was barely touching it the whole time. Sometimes you just gotta trust that these things are built tougher than they look.
