Hit 25 years in the trade today, never thought I'd see this

Started as a helper back in 99 in Phoenix, sweeping floors and hauling wire for a guy who could bend pipe in his sleep. Today I hit 25 years and I did the math, that's over 40,000 hours of pulling wire and tracing circuits. It hit me that the old fuse panels I used to swap out are now vintage pieces people pay extra for. Has anyone else had a milestone that made them realize how much the code book and the tools have changed?

Honestly, congrats on the 25 years, that's a real grind and you earned every hour. But I gotta push back on the whole "everything's changed" thing. The code book updates every three years and the tools get fancier, sure, but the core of the job is still the same: figuring out how to get power from point A to point B safely and without burning something down. I've been doing this for 22 years myself and I see guys get so caught up in the new gadgets they forget the basics still matter. The old fuse panels being vintage is just a marketing trick, the real milestone is when you realize you can walk onto any job and know exactly what's gonna happen before you even open your bag.
