Hot take: my apprentice said 'nobody uses wire nuts anymore' and it threw me
I was showing him a splice from a 1998 Reno and he just looked at it like some ancient artifact, lol. Has anyone else had a kid on the crew make you feel old about a totally standard practice?

Saw a similar thing happen at a family garage sale last summer. My cousin, he's 22, watched me wrap an extension cord the way my grandpa taught me, over-under loop style, and he just goes "why not just toss it in a bucket?" Made me stop and think. I'd been doing that loop thing for like 15 years without ever questioning it. Now I just throw cords in a bin and they work fine.

Honestly, the kid has a point.

Yeah, kids cutting through the nonsense is something else. My nephew once asked why we have to stand for an hour at a family party when everyone just wants to sit and eat. He wasn't being rude, he just saw the whole thing was silly. Made the adults actually change how we do things.

Oh man, I'm the worst at that stuff. I'll follow some pointless rule for years until someone points it out. Your nephew just saved you all a lot of future standing around, lol.
