Just crossed 1,000 joints terminated in my career
Been doing resi work for 3 years now. Hit 1,000 wire nuts and Wagos combined last week on a McMansion in Naperville. Felt weird to count but my journeyman said that's apprentice territory for a rookie. What numbers have you guys tracked that surprised you?

Read somewhere that the average sparky goes through about 4,000 wire nuts in their first year alone. That puts things in perspective a bit, doesn't it?

Stopped counting after around 3,000 myself, @aliceharris. That number feels low if you're doing a lot of new construction or rewiring old houses. I burned through a full box of 250 just on a single bathroom rough-in last week. And they always seem to vanish into thin air when you need one, too. The real shocker is how many you step on or drop into a wall cavity and just leave there.
