Just realized my old habit of twisting solid wire with lineman's pliers was causing weak connections.
A journeyman in Phoenix told me 'You're work-hardening the copper, it'll crack over time' and now I use a proper wire nut driver for everything over 12 gauge. Anyone else have a simple tip that fixed a bad practice?

Guess that journeyman saved you from a shocking discovery down the road.

Wait, that journeyman was actually on the job site? I assumed it was just some story you heard later. That makes it way more real and scary.

Totally, I had a close call like that once too.
