That cheap laser level I doubted actually paid for itself in two days

I picked up a no-name green laser level for $45 at a supply house in Tacoma last spring, mostly as a joke because I figured it would be junk next to my rotary one. We had a big commercial rough-in job with drop ceilings and a ton of can lights, and I needed to shoot a level line across a 60 foot open bay. The thing held up perfectly for the whole run, and I cut my layout time from maybe 4 hours down to 1.5 on that first day alone. I still use my rotary for outdoor slab work, but for interior stuff this cheap unit has become my go to. I always told apprentices not to waste money on budget tools, but this one made me rethink that rule. Has anyone else had a cheap tool surprise them like that, or did I just get lucky?
