Took me 4 hours to find a loose neutral in a 1970s panel in Akron because someone had painted over the bus bar screws
If you ever want to lose half a day, try tracing an intermittent flicker through a panel where every screw slot is filled with Behr semi-gloss, because I finally had to chip them out one at a time and I'm still not sure I got them all.

So did the paint actually bridge anything or was it just hiding the loose neutral the whole time? I keep running into that Behr trick in old Cleveland panels and it always makes me wonder what else is buried under there.
