Wired a whole house with MC cable instead of Romex for the first time last year. Never going back.

Wait, have you actually priced out the extra cost for all that metal cladding? I did one room with MC and the material bill was way higher than I expected. It's also a pain to cut and bend compared to just pulling Romex through studs. For most normal houses, the extra time and money just doesn't seem worth it to me.

Yeah, @zaranelson, but that metal armor is a lifesaver if you have rodents.

Totally get what @the_rose is saying about the protection, but I've seen this same thing with car undercoating. People pay a ton for that extra shield against road salt, but for most drivers who don't keep a car for 20 years, it's just a big upfront cost for a maybe problem. Feels like a solution that's often more about peace of mind than practical math.
