A whole week of nothing but water damaged phones from the same concert

Last week was just wild. I think every single person who went to that big outdoor festival in the rain must have brought their phone to my shop. I had a line out the door for three days straight, all with the same story. I must have opened up 30 identical models, all with that same pink corrosion on the charging port flex cable. The weird part was how many of them had rice grains still stuck in the headphone jack. I spent more time with my isopropyl bottle and my little brush than I did with my soldering iron. It got to the point where I could do the whole disassembly and clean in about 12 minutes flat. Has anyone else ever had a flood of the exact same, super specific damage from one event like that?

Remember reading about that festival where the rain just came down in sheets. Doesn't it make you wonder why people still try the rice trick when it never seems to work? You must have felt like you were on a factory line doing the same fix over and over. Bet you could do it in your sleep by the end of the week.

Ugh, right? I saw a tech blog tear that rice thing apart last year, it just makes the mess worse lol.
