Hit 1,000 soldered joints on a single board yesterday and my hand cramped for an hour
I was fixing an old CRT monitor from 1989 and didn't realize how many cold joints were hiding until I counted them on my tenth cup of coffee, has anyone else lost track of how long a repair takes because you're just counting joints instead of the clock?

Wait, you actually counted them all? I used to think that was overkill but man, after doing a big reflow on a vintage amp last week I get it now. I hit around 400 and my brain just turned off completely, like you're in a trance just moving the iron. It's weird how satisfying it is though, seeing all those shiny little dots line up. The hand cramp is real though, I had to switch to my left hand halfway through just to finish the job.

Isn't it weird how the most boring stuff turns into a weird kind of meditation?
