Vent: Hunting down a specific capacitor model dragged on way too long.
I had a TV repair job stuck for a month waiting on one tiny part. Lost a good chunk of profit just from the hold-up, so double-check your supplier's stock before promising quick fixes.

Check heat tolerance too, @webb.hannah, not just capacitance.

Seriously! This happens way too often, and it's not just about stock. Counterfeit parts are a real problem in electronics repair. For example, fake capacitors can fail within days, causing comebacks. Checking supplier credibility is as important as checking inventory. A quick test on arrival can prevent wasted time and money.

Quick tests on arrival... I've had counterfeits pass those no problem. Batch consistency can be just as tricky, you know?

@sandra_moore30, you're spot on about fake capacitors failing fast... What quick tests do you run when parts arrive? I usually check the capacitance with a meter and look for off-brand printing. Some fakes even feel lighter or have sloppy soldering on the leads.
