Dropped $400 on a Fluke 1587 for motor testing, best money or waste?
One side says a cheap meter gets the job done on most motor circuits, the other says the insulation and megohm testing on the 1587 paid for itself the first time I caught a failing winding before it smoked, so which camp are you in?
