Just found out the hard way about hydraulic fluid temp in cold weather

We had a call at a 12-story building in Minneapolis yesterday, lift was running rough and jerky. I checked everything, valves, seals, even the pump, but it was the fluid sitting at 30 degrees that was the issue. Threw a small drum heater on the reservoir for 2 hours and it ran smooth as silk after. Anyone else dealing with winter slowdowns, check your oil temp before you start tearing things apart.
