Took me 8 months of daily calls to realize I was holding my phone wrong on the job site
I kept dropping audio on our service calls until a guy from Schindler pointed out my phone's bottom mic was covered by my pinky, and now I actually hear what the controller is saying during tests, has anyone else accidentally muffled their own ear piece without noticing?

Honestly, I did the exact same thing for months. I started using a cheap pop socket on the back of my phone so my grip naturally keeps my fingers off the bottom edge. It's a dumb fix but it saved me a ton of headaches on site.

Pop sockets are the duct tape of the smartphone world. Cheap, ugly, and somehow fixes everything. Been rocking one on my work phone for two years now. Never dropped it once on a concrete floor. My thumb sits right on it like a trained pigeon on a statue.

Pop sockets are just another thing to snag on your toolbelt or fall off when you're crawling through a ceiling. Work phones take a beating, and adding a cheap plastic ridge just gives it a new angle to crack. Better to just hold the phone properly or get a basic rubber case that forces a grip change.
