Warning: The new digital door lock tester from Dynatech cost me $350 and it's been a headache
I bought it thinking it would speed up troubleshooting on those modern elevator doors, but the software keeps freezing on my phone. Had it fail on me twice last week at a site in Cincinnati, leaving me to go back to the old manual methods. Anyone have a better tool for checking door lock circuits that actually works?

My buddy said the same thing about the software freezing on his phone.

My Samsung S22 runs that app just fine, no freezes at all. Maybe it's a phone hardware thing, not the software.

That software freezing is the worst. I had the exact same problem with my phone, and it makes the whole tool useless when you're on a job. In my experience, you just can't trust a tool that fails when you need it most. I ended up going back to my old reliable meter and a simple test lead setup. It takes a minute longer, but at least it works every single time.
