Worst week of my career: 3 stuck cars in 2 days downtown
Last Tuesday started with a no-heat call on a 20-year-old Otis in the Grand building. Got there, found the controller board fried. Then Wednesday I got two back-to-back entrapments in the same block. First one was a simple door lock issue, second was a brake jam on a hydraulic unit. Took me 6 hours just to get everything moving again. Has anyone else had a week where nothing goes right and you're just fighting fires?

mila_murphy said it right about it being brutal, but I'm wondering what the actual root cause was with that brake jam... did the hydraulic fluid look clean or was it that nasty dark stuff that tells you someone skipped maintenance for years?

Dude that sounds absolutely brutal, really feel for you on this one.

Ngl I was kind of in the "just push through it" camp before. Thought people were being dramatic about burnout or whatever. But after watching a close friend go through something similar last year, seeing how it messed with their sleep and mood for months straight... yeah I get it now. It's not just being tired, it's like your whole system just gives up on you. Really made me rethink how I handle my own limits.
