Appreciation post: That coffee shop on Main Street with the fast WiFi

Stopped by Brew Lab in Portland last week to bang out some invoices and noticed their internet held up even at noon rush. Has anyone else found a spot that actually works when you need to send payment reminders fast?

Nah Brew Lab is legit. The one by my place actually has a whole separate section for people working so you don't get death stares when you bring out a laptop during brunch rush. Their WiFi held up while I was uploading huge files to Dropbox too. Beats the heck out of that chain place on 3rd where the connection dies every time someone orders a fancy latte.

You ever totally write off a place for no good reason? I used to think Brew Lab was just another overhyped spot where you pay five bucks for a latte and get dial-up speed in return. But a buddy dragged me there last month and I gotta admit I was wrong. Their wifi held strong while I was uploading a whole stack of invoices, didn't even hiccup when the lunch crowd rolled in. That separate work section the_faith mentioned is a game changer too, no side-eye for taking up a table with a laptop. Definitely changed my mind about the whole place.

Wait, have you ever had that moment where you're in a coffee shop and the wifi drops right when you hit send on something important? I remember one time I was at this spot downtown trying to get a bunch of files uploaded and the connection just went dead for like twenty minutes. I ended up having to sit on the floor near the bathroom to get a signal. Brew Lab sounds like a lifesaver compared to that. I might have to swing by there next time I'm in the area.
