Chose between a pay cut or chasing a ghost client last month
I had a $4,000 project done and the client went silent for three weeks. I decided to offer a 15% discount for immediate payment instead of waiting another month. They paid within two hours, but I still wonder if I gave up too much too fast. Has anyone else tried this and regretted it?

Holy cow, you only offered 15% off and they paid in two hours? That's wild, I would have caved way harder than that.

Didn't you read that blog post about how discount urgency messes with people's brains?

You ever notice how everything in life works like that? Like when you're at a store and see something marked down 20% and suddenly you gotta have it even though you didn't even want it five minutes ago. Same deal with clients. The minute you show any kind of flexibility they think there's a time bomb ticking and they gotta act fast. I think you played it smart honestly. 15% is nothing compared to waiting another 30 days with zero cash flow and that knot in your stomach wondering if you'll ever see a dime. Sometimes the biggest mistake is thinking you have more time than you actually do.
