Finally cracked the code on getting paid within 48 hours after 4 years of waiting 60 days

I used to just send my invoice with a standard "payment due upon receipt" note and cross my fingers until I got ghosted by a client in Austin who owed me $1,200 for logo work. Last month I started offering a 5% discount if they paid through PayPal within 24 hours and got the check in my account before I even finished my next coffee. Has anyone else tried using a small discount to speed things up or do you have a different trick that works better?

Oh man, I tried that and ended up giving myself a 5% "I forgot to invoice until 3 weeks later" discount by accident. Classic self-own.

...actually had a buddy who tried that same 5% discount trick and it backfired hard. The client started expecting the discount on every single invoice and got mad when he didn't offer it.
