Hit $10k in unpaid invoices and it finally clicked
I'm not a big freelancer, mostly small design jobs around Austin. But last week I added up every invoice sitting past 60 days and it was $10,300. That's my mortgage for four months. I always dismissed late payers as a hassle, not a real loss, until I saw the number on paper. Anyone else do a total like that and suddenly change how they chase money?

30 day net terms and late fees changed everything for me.

Damn, seeing it all in one number hits different. Same thing happened to me with a few clients, so I set up a system where I invoice every two weeks instead of monthly. Smaller bills seem less scary to people, so they pay faster.
