Showerthought: a bookkeeper in Phoenix said invoice at 7am on Tuesday, and I almost ignored her
Two years back a bookkeeper named Dana in Phoenix told me to always send my invoice at 7am on a Tuesday instead of Friday afternoon. I thought that was total nonsense, like the day of the week has anything to do with getting paid. So I tested it on 14 invoices over about 5 months, half sent Friday around 4pm and half sent Tuesday morning. The Tuesday ones got paid in an average of 6 days, the Friday ones sat for 19 days or more. Turns out Monday inboxes are a mess and Friday afternoons your invoice just slides under everything all weekend. Now I schedule all my sends for Tuesday at 7am, and it is easily the best free change I have made. Has anyone else messed with send timing like this, or am I just getting lucky with a small sample?

Tuesday 7am also beats their lunch break, since nobody pays bills with a sandwich in hand.
