Wasted $150 on a logo contest site and got crap results
I paid up front for a logo design contest where you get like 30 designers to submit ideas, hoping for a quick fix. Instead I got a bunch of generic clip art and the winner I picked looked nothing like what I asked for after 3 revisions. Did anyone else get burned by those crowdsourced design platforms, or is it just me being too picky?

Man, did I used to think those contest sites were a good idea? I actually recommended one to a friend a few years back, but man was I wrong. After trying it myself I got burned just like you, a bunch of logos that looked like they were made in 5 minutes with no thought about my actual brand. It really opened my eyes to how much of a gamble it is when designers have no reason to care about the result. Now I just find a real designer through word of mouth or a portfolio site, it costs more but at least I get something that actually fits.

Oh man same here, I paid $200 and got back a bunch of ugly clip art with no real thought put into it.
