Why does nobody talk about the retired plumber in Reno who taught me to bill like a poker player?
Back in 2016 I did a furnace swap for this old guy named Walt, and when he saw my invoice he laughed and said "you're charging for your hands, not your head." He paid on the spot but that line stuck with me, and now I add a line for the job knowledge itself, not just the wrench time. Curious if anyone else bills for the thinking part or just the labor.
