A client walked out mid facial at my booth in Phoenix and I just stood there
I was doing a basic facial at my booth in Phoenix last month and about halfway through the extractions this woman sat up, said the steam felt too hot, and just left with product still on her face. I panicked for a sec then wiped everything down, logged the time, and texted her a no pressure follow up the next day asking if she wanted to come back and try a gentler setting. She actually rebooked for this week and wants to start with just a cleanse and mask, so now I'm wondering if I should be asking about heat sensitivity during the consult instead of just assuming everyone's fine with steam. Has anyone else had a client bail mid service and how did you handle the rebooking?
Steam isn't actually what makes extractions hurt, it's more about how long the skin's been under it and how warm the room already is. In Phoenix you're probably dealing with clients coming in already overheated, so the steam feels way worse to them than it would in a cooler place. Asking about heat sensitivity is smart, but also try shorter steam time and check in with them every couple minutes instead of waiting for them to say something. Sounds like you handled the follow up well since she came back.
