Found a $30 LED lamp that changed my extraction game completely
I picked up one of those magnifying ring lights with the adjustable arm off Amazon for about $30 last month and I honestly didn't expect much. But it made a huge difference for seeing clogged pores and tiny blackheads during facials. My old lamp cast shadows on one side of the face no matter what I did. This one lets me get right in there without craning my neck. Anyone else find a cheap piece of gear that actually outperformed your expensive stuff?

The cheap stuff outperforming expensive gear is a pattern I see everywhere now. My buddy spent $300 on some fancy brand name beard trimmer and it died in six months, but my $20 Walmart special has been going strong for three years. Same with kitchen knives - my $15 Victorinox beats the pants off that $100 set my sister got for her wedding. At this point I feel like a lot of the expensive stuff is just marketing and a nice box, not actual quality.

You got lucky with that trimmer man... the Walmart stuff is a total crapshoot. I went through three of those cheap clippers in one year because the motor kept burning out on my thick beard hair. My brother's $200 Wahl has lasted him over a decade with just blade replacements. And those Victorinox knives are great for the price but they don't hold an edge like a Shun or a Wusthof - my sister's fancy wedding set will outlast yours by twenty years if she sharpens them right. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for with the engineering and materials.
