Had a client with super oily skin and closed comedones that nothing touched for months. Tried a 2% BHA toner on a cotton pad, then used a warm towel to steam for 2 minutes before extractions. Worked way better than my usual method.

Honestly, my usual method is just me staring at a stubborn comedone until it gets scared and leaves. Tbh the idea of a warm towel doing more work than my expensive tools is kind of a personal attack. Ngl, I might have to try this instead of my usual routine of hope and prayer.

Wait, is the staring method not a legit skincare step? I mean, I've spent so much time trying to intimidate my pores into submission. Honestly, the warm towel thing feels like a betrayal of all my fancy serums. Maybe my skin just responds better to gentle threats than actual science.

Steam first, then BHA, makes a huge difference.

Started doing the warm towel thing about a month ago and it really changed how my BHA works. @julias44 is spot on about the order mattering, I used to just slap BHA on dry skin and wonder why nothing happened. The steam opens everything up so the acid can actually get down in there instead of just sitting on top. Saw a big difference in my chin texture after about two weeks of doing it that way. Just make sure your skin is damp not dripping wet before you apply the BHA, that part matters too.
