Heads up about those cheap LED mask kits online
I got really excited about adding light therapy to my home service menu and bought a popular LED mask kit from an online ad for about $150. It looked just like the pro ones! But after just three weeks of gentle use, the lights started flickering badly and one section went totally dark. I opened it up and the wiring inside was a mess, all thin and poorly soldered. It felt so flimsy and cheap, nothing like the tool I trusted for my clients. I'm out the money and now I have to save up for a real, FDA-cleared device which costs way more. Has anyone found a good, safe brand for at-home use that doesn't break the bank?

Ugh that's the worst, getting hyped for a new tool just to have it fall apart. Classic case of getting what you pay for, I guess, but it still sucks to be out the cash. Those ads make everything look so legit too. Hope you find a decent one that doesn't cost a fortune, but man, maybe the cheap ones are just fancy paperweights with lights.

Right? The ad showed it cutting through a brick. Mine couldn't even handle a stick of butter. At least the blinking light was a nice warning it was about to die.

Honestly, "fancy paperweights with lights" is the perfect way to put it. Tbh that's all most of those cheap gadgets are.

My $120 mask lasted exactly two weeks before the blue lights died. @the_daniel is right about getting what you pay for, but the wiring inside mine was just scary. I'm saving for a real one now too.
