Rant: Blew $180 on a facial tool that did nothing for my skin
I caved and bought that viral LED mask for $180 after seeing estheticians rave about it on IG. Used it every night for six weeks and saw zero difference in my breakouts or fine lines. Anyone else waste cash on a hyped gadget that just collected dust?

Oh man, six weeks is brutal. I heard those LED masks only work if you have the right wavelength for your specific skin issue, and most of them just blast a general red light that does nothing for acne. You probably need a combo of blue and red, not just one. Plus I read somewhere that the cheap knockoffs on Amazon have way lower power than the professional ones, so you're basically just shining a fancy flashlight on your face.

Six weeks with no results from that thing? Dang, that's rough.

@casey268 your point about the cheap knockoffs is spot on. I actually fell for one last year and felt so dumb after. What really helped me was switching to a simple routine with a basic salicylic acid cleanser and a good moisturizer. The difference was night and day for my breakouts in just a couple weeks. Sometimes the simple stuff is way better than the flashy gadgets.
