Rant: That hotel room facial setup last month still bugs me
I got called to do a wedding party at the Ritz in Santa Monica last month. They put me in this tiny bathroom with a single overhead light and no chair. I had to mix my products on the edge of a sink that kept getting wet. Ended up dropping a whole bottle of $40 toner on the tile floor... shattered everywhere. Has anyone else dealt with places that don't get what we need to actually work?

Question whether dropping the toner was really that big of a deal though. I mean yeah it sucks to lose product but $40 isn't exactly breaking the bank in this business, and bathroom setups are kind of expected at any decent hotel.

Room setups at hotels are always hit or miss, but I learned to bring my own folding table and a small work light just in case. Sounds like bad luck with that toner bottle though.

Forty dollars is actually a big deal when you're adding up all the little losses over a month. I had a bottle of toner leak in my bag once, ruined a shirt and two towels before I even noticed. The thing about bringing your own table and light is smart, but I'd add a small plastic tray or a silicone mat to set the toner on. Those little bottles can roll off anything if you bump it. Also, check the bathroom counter for a slight slope, some hotels have them slanted for water runoff and that alone can send a bottle sliding.
