Tried a new peel on myself before a big event and my face peeled the wrong way
Used a 30% glycolic acid peel from a brand I hadn't tested three days before a family wedding and ended up with patchy flaking that makeup couldn't hide. Has anyone else had a peel react totally differently than expected based on your skin's current state?

...and isn't that just how everything in life seems to work? You plan for one outcome, you do all your prep, and then your skin just decides to go rogue on you. It's like when you finally decide to clean out your garage and suddenly find three hammers you forgot you owned, or when you map out a perfect route for a road trip and hit construction on every single exit. You think you've got your skin's whole personality figured out, then it throws you a curveball because it's stressed or the weather changed or you looked at it wrong that morning. The real lesson here is that your skin has a mind of its own, and it won't let you forget it right before a big family event.

YES. "Your skin decides to go rogue on you" is the PERFECT way to put it. I had this happen last year before my cousin's wedding. I did everything right for weeks. Clean eating, drinking water like clockwork, the whole routine. Then two days before the event my face EXPLODED with a massive red patch right on my cheek. It was like my skin waited for the most inconvenient moment just to mess with me. I feel your pain SO much.

averyc94 hit it right - "your skin has a mind of its own" is exactly what I'm learning the hard way. It's like my face decided to act up just to remind me who's really in charge.
