Update on that new 'natural' enzyme peel I tried

I was reading a study from a university dermatology department, and it said a lot of those fruit enzyme products actually work at a pH too low for home use to be effective. Found it while looking up info for a client with rosacea. Has anyone else come across research that made them second guess a popular treatment?

Tbh I read the same thing about the pH being off.

Right, the pH thing. I bought a toner that was supposed to be "pH perfect" and it made my face feel so tight and weird. Total waste of money.

Sounds about right for the skincare industry. They'll sell you a bottle of hope with a fancy label and a pH that does nothing. Makes you wonder what else is just expensive water.

Expensive water" is the perfect way to put it. Half the stuff on the shelf is just a nice smell in a basic lotion. They bank on you wanting to believe the magic is in the bottle, not the boring truth. It's all marketing wrapped in sciencey words that don't mean much.
