Bought a $180 hoof nipper upgrade, not sure it was worth it
I picked up a mid-range nipper a few months back thinking it would speed up my trim time, and honestly some days it feels smoother but other days I miss the bite of my old cheap pair. Anyone else go back and forth on whether the pricier tools actually pay off, or did you just stick with what worked?
For years I swore the cheap ones were just as good and anyone paying more was fooling themselves. Then my hands started aching after every long day and I caved and bought a better pair. Turns out the sharpness holds way longer, so I'm not fighting the tool halfway through a trim. What got me was how much less hand strain I had by the end, and that alone sold me. Now I keep the old ones as backup but I'd never go back to using them as my main pair.
