Used to think hoof angles were just some old school thing people got hung up on for no reason. Then I watched a farrier fix a horse that was sore for months just by changing the angle a few degrees, and it clicked. Hard to argue with a horse moving sound after you see the difference with your own eyes.

Wrong angle is the problem? How do you know it wasn't the farrier taking too much wall or sole that fixed it? I've seen guys blame angles for everything when really they just trimmed the horse better. Angles matter some, sure. But people act like it's a magic fix. Half the time it's just getting the foot balanced right, not the actual degree number. Horses go lame for a million reasons. Pinning it on one thing feels like a cop out sometimes.

Had a pony go dead lame after a trim and fixing the angle got him walking sound again overnight.
