Pro tip: Don't cheap out on your hoof stand like I did

Bought a $150 'bargain' stand that collapsed after two months, costing me a $400 emergency vet call for a spooked horse. What's a truly solid brand that won't fold on you?

Ugh, that's brutal. I saw a post last week where someone swore by the old-school Sullivan stands, said they're basically indestructible. Might be worth looking into those.

Totally see that with so much stuff now. It feels like everything from tools to appliances was just overbuilt back then, meant to last a lifetime. Now you buy the new version and it feels flimsy right out of the box. Makes you wonder if they even want things to be fixed anymore. There's a real charm in finding those old workhorses that just won't quit.

Sullivan stands are built like tanks, my barn has had the same one for like 15 years. You can find them used pretty often too.

Yeah, "built like tanks" is right, and @hayes.wade isn't wrong about them being basically indestructible.
