Rasp handle grip wrap trick that saved my wrist in June
Been fighting tendon pain in my right wrist for a while, then a old timer at the Linn County fairgrounds showed me to wrap the rasp handle with hockey stick tape, just a thin layer. Grip feels way more solid now, especially when the horse shifts weight mid-trim. Anyone else use tape on their tools or am I the last guy to figure this out?

Well now, I gotta respectfully disagree with you there. Tape on the handle has always felt wrong to me because it adds just enough squish that I lose the fine feel of what the rasp is doing on the hoof. I've had tendinitis flare ups too, but what actually saved my wrist was switching to a shorter rasp and using my whole arm instead of just flicking from the wrist. The tape masks grip issues, it doesn't fix them. You might be gripping too hard if you need that much cushion. But hey, if it works for you and the horse stays steady, then more power to you. I just worry people will tape up a worn out handle and ignore the real problem underneath.
