The curved hoof knife I almost returned on day one

Picked up a curved blade from a swap meet in Ohio for $15, figured it was junk. First two trims felt clumsy, I kept snagging the sole and wanted to toss it. On the third horse, a stubborn draft with deep heels, it just clicked and scooped out the frog like butter. Turns out the curve fits the natural hollow better than my straight one, once I slowed my angle. Anyone else gave a tool a second chance and ended up loving it, or is this just me?
