TIL that gas station near the I-90 truck stop has really bad hoof rot going around

I stopped at that place just north of Rockford yesterday to grab a coffee and noticed three horses in the lot that looked off - one was practically hobbling. Their farrier was out there with a spray bottle and no gloves on, anyone else seen this spreading?

Wait, was that the one with the faded sign that says "Fuel & Feed" or something like that? I stopped there two weeks ago and saw this old mare with her hoof all cracked and puffy, looked like she was standing on a wet sponge. The guy running the place just hosed her off and said she'd be fine, but I saw the same thing happening to a younger horse tied up near the dumpster yesterday when I drove by again. That place is a mess, I wouldn't take my trailer anywhere near it.

Yeah that place is bad news, I've heard the same thing from a few other folks. Thrush and scratches spread like wildfire in conditions like that. Don't even think about backing a trailer in there unless you want to bring something nasty home.

Dude, exactly. I've seen that thrush spread from one horse to a whole barn. Hit it with antibiotic hoof spray daily.
