Used to keep 4 hoof knives in my apron, now I sharpen one every Sunday night
Back when I started shoeing in Cheyenne I carried four knives because I hated stopping to sharpen mid-day. Problem was I'd grab a dull one anyway and hack at the sole like an idiot, and a gelding named Bo nearly took my knee out one afternoon. Now I keep one knife, a Dick or a Hall, and I touch it up every Sunday night with a diamond stone while my coffee gets cold. Takes ten minutes and I get cleaner sole cuts all week. Anyone else have a sharpening night ritual or am I the odd one?

Sunday night sharpening is solid, but Dick and Hall make different knives, not the same one.
