Vent: Hit 50 barefoot horse shoeing gigs in 4 months and my back is wrecked

I didn't realize how many owners are going barefoot now until I counted 50 jobs where there were zero nails involved and just trimming and boot fitting. Anyone else seeing way more barefoot requests than they expected?

Woah wait you're telling me you did 50 barefoot gigs in just 4 months? That's like over 3 a week! I can't believe how fast that trend has taken off. My buddy who trims says he's seeing way more owners who just want the barefoot trim and boots for trails instead of full shoes. That kind of volume on your back has got to be brutal though, all that bending and lifting.

Barefoot trend's cool but some horses really need shoes for their actual job.

Saw a article saying barefoot is better for their joints long term, @rivera.hannah

Man, 50 barefoot gigs in 4 months sounds like a chiropractor's wet dream and a farrier's nightmare all at once. My back hurts just reading that number, and I'm mostly sitting on a couch all day. @thomasb41 has a point though, some of those big draft horses I see at shows would probably laugh at a pair of boots before crushing them into dust. I guess the trail riding crowd has really jumped on the barefoot train, but at least you're getting paid to count horse toes all day instead of wrestling with red hot metal.
