Had to choose between linen and cotton for a summer dress project
Was making a sundress for a client down in Phoenix. She wanted something that breathed but also didn't wrinkle into a mess by noon. I went with cotton because linen creases so bad. Dress came out good but she told me later she had to iron it every morning. Should I have just gone with linen and told her to deal with the wrinkles? Has anyone else dealt with this fabric choice for hot weather pieces?

Honestly, @white.keith makes a solid point about the steamer trick. Did your client specifically complain about the extra ironing or was she just mentioning it?

Read that steamers barely touch heavy cotton wrinkles in humid weather.

Had a similar situation with a client in Austin. Cotton's always gonna need ironing in dry heat, linen just looks lived in. Tell her to get a steamer and call it a day, saves way more time than pressing every morning.
