Remember when you had to use a paper pattern for everything?

I was in my old apartment in Austin, trying to cut silk for a dress. The pattern slipped and I cut a huge gash right through the center panel. I had to piece it back together with a hidden seam, which actually made the drape more interesting in the end. Anyone else have a fabric disaster that turned out okay?

Oh man, that's the worst feeling. Once spilled coffee on some white linen and the stain wouldn't come out. Ended up dip-dyeing the whole thing blue and it looked way cooler.

Seems like a lot of work for a coffee stain. It's just a shirt, not a family heirloom. Most people would just toss it or wear it stained. The dip dye thing sounds like a whole craft project.

Henry's lucky his experiment turned out cool but not everyone wants to spend a whole afternoon turning a mistake into a project. Coffee stains are just part of life, you can't fix every little spill with a craft session or it'd take over your whole week. @henry_anderson54 probably had some time to kill or really hated the original shirt anyway. Most of us just throw it in the wash with some oxyclean or accept the new battle scar. It's a cotton tee not a museum piece, people need to relax.
